The HSD cooler option enables testing below ambient temperature, and improves temperature control when there is heat generated by friction during a test. It can also be used for faster cooling of the test chamber after high-temperature testing, allowing the user quicker access to the system for cleaning and setting up for the next test.
The HSD cooler option enables faster cooling of the test chamber after high-temperature testing. This reduces waiting time before cleaning or starting a new test. The cooler also enables testing at sub-ambient temperatures down to 5°C. At all temperatures, the cooler significantly improves temperature control when friction between test specimens generates heat. It connects directly to the HSD system and is controlled by the HSD’s PC software to automatically turn the cooler on and off as required during the automated test sequence, and to cool down to a safe temperature when the test has finished.
