STLE Tribology and Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference

As the world starts to open up again for international travel, this means that in-person conferences are making a comeback! One such conference which PCS Instruments is proud to sponsor is the inaugural STLE Tribology and Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference at the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in San Antonio, Texas.

Starting on the 3rd of November 2021 and running until the 5th, this new conference will cover all the latest technical challenges and commercial opportunities that will impact the future of EV technology. Despite not having conventional internal combustion engines, electric vehicles face the same tribological challenges of transmission, gear and bearing lubrication. These problems are coupled with new requirements, such as for lubricant thermal and electrical properties, new operating conditions, and changes in parts manufacturing.

The event will include talks from a range of experts in the field and consists of both an educational course and a program of technical talks, all of which will be available to both those there in person and attending virtually. Interestingly, the conference program has been designed to take attendees on a journey through the different roles that tribology will play in EV design, highlighting areas such as driveline fluids, base oil selection, additive choices, finished fluid design and testing, before rounding off with a panel discussion where attendees will hear some stakeholder perspectives on hardware trends.

We are proud sponsors of this event, but unfortunately PCS Instruments is not able to attend in person this year. We’re still looking forward to attending virtually, and to listening to the talks and presentations from this new and exciting conference.

PCS Instruments will be attending our first conference back in person at the OilDoc Conference and Exhibition in Rosenheim, Germany, from the 17th– 19th of November, we hope to see you there!
