The 2019 National Mentoring Awards, taking place in London on March 1st, is a high-profile event that recognises and celebrates mentoring within science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). PCS are delighted to announce their sponsorship of the STEM mentoring award and are proud to be able to support such a worthy category and prestigious event.

Held at the impressive 5-star Jumeirah Carlton Hotel, the National Mentoring Awards is set to be an exceptional event celebrating the positive influence and effect of mentoring. PCS are thankful for the opportunity to be able to show their support in this category, particularly as the award recognises the importance of mentors for helping rising mentees overcome barriers and issues related specifically to the STEM industry. All the nominated mentors have demonstrated their ability to encourage growth and innovation when faced with a multitude of prohibiting factors.

Across all industries mentoring is important, to nurture and support the future leaders of tomorrow, but recognising excellent STEM mentoring is particularly significant. In recent years the lack of diversity in STEM further education and employment has been highlighted, causing the industry to re-evaluate some of its operations. It is therefore important to recognise individuals who are challenging stigmas and boundaries in the STEM industry and helping to nurture mentees of all backgrounds.
